The Challenge: Strict export controls on high-performance navigation components create significant project delays, supply chain vulnerabilities, and restricted global market access for technology integrators.
The Solution: Advanced Navigation produces products designed and manufactured without ITAR-controlled components, delivering navigation solutions without being subject to export restrictions.
The Outcome: Accelerate your time-to-market, remove key barriers to global market access, and build more resilient supply chains, giving you a commercial and strategic advantage.
Navigating complex export controls for high-performance components is a primary source of project delays, budget overruns, and restricted market access.
Regulations such as the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) can introduce significant uncertainty to procurement.
At Advanced Navigation, we remove this bottleneck by design, providing inertial navigation systems (INS) designed for streamlined global deployment, accelerating your time-to-market without compromising on capability.
Few of us relish navigating complex export control regulations.
When an INS is classified under ITAR, it immediately introduces a series of challenges that go far beyond technical specifications:
For too long, the narrative has been that top-tier INS products are inherently tied to ITAR controls. If you wanted superior performance, you had to accept the export restrictions that came with it.
On the other hand, while some may opt for lower-grade, non-ITAR components to avoid export delays, this forces a compromise on performance that we know customers simply cannot afford.
But the world has changed.
Advanced Navigation delivers high-performance INS solutions manufactured without ITAR-controlled components, allowing you to achieve both market-leading technical capabilities and unrestricted global deployment.
Our INS products deliver:

Our vertically integrated manufacturing and onshore production facilities give us an exceptionally high degree of control over our supply chain.
This model not only ensures our products remain free from ITAR restrictions, but also enables rapid production and delivery, decoupling your project timelines from geopolitical uncertainty and complex licensing.
Relying on components with restrictive export controls can be a significant, and often unnecessary, limitation that directly impacts your bottom line and your growth trajectory.
Advanced Navigation is the choice for INS solutions not subject to ITAR controls. We empower you to design without borders, procure without anxiety, and sell without compromise.

An item is considered “ITAR-controlled” if it is specifically listed on the United States Munitions List (USML). The USML is a comprehensive list of defense articles, services, and related technical data that are regulated by the US Department of State.
In the context of navigation, certain high-performance gyroscopes, inertial measurement units (IMUs), or GPS receivers that are specially designed or modified for military use fall under USML categories.
“ITAR-free” means that a product, technology, or service is not on the United States Munitions List and is therefore not subject to the jurisdiction and export control regulations of ITAR.
Essentially, an ITAR-free product provides a much simpler, faster, and more predictable path for integration into systems intended for a global market.
