Geosurvey Mexicana specialises in Differential Global Positioning Systems (DGPS) services for the oil industry. Lacking a suitable system to provide positioning and orientation of suction piles, the company was unable to bid on some tenders. Consequently they started to look for an USBL device capable of providing position and heading. ‘’Looking for options we found the Advanced Navigation Subsonus USBL which provides all the benefits of competitor products but at a fraction of the cost and size’’ said Duarte, Project Manager at Geosurvey Mexicana.

With 156kw, the power-to-weight ratio is 0.86 kW/kg, a value that exceeds even supercars and gives the prototype its tremendous acceleration. AMZ has selected Advanced Navigation Spatial Dual, a ruggedized miniature GPS aided INS and AHRS that provides accurate position, velocity, acceleration and orientation.

DYNETICS SELECTS ADVANCED NAVIGATION FOR THE GREMLINS PROGRAM

Dynetics has been selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to demonstrate the capability to launch unmanned aircraft from warplanes and quickly recover them in mid-air. Named “Gremlins”, these drones are designed to be low cost and reusable within 24 hours after a mission.
“Rapid development of innovative and complex systems like Gremlins drives us to identify and use system components with the highest reputation for reliability and performance. We are proud to be working, once again, with Advanced Navigation on another one of our priority demonstration programs." said Tim Keeter, Deputy Program Manager and Chief Engineer for Gremlins at Dynetics.

Advanced Navigation has announced the release of their GNSS Compass product. The GNSS Compass is an all in one dual antenna GNSS/INS that provides accurate heading, position and velocity at a very low price point. It is a plug and play unit that has NMEA0183, NMEA2000 and Ethernet interfaces. It is wheelmark certified for use on commercial marine vessels.
