What is the definition of world magnetic model (WMM)?

Stands for world magnetic model. WMM is a three dimensional measurement of the Earth’s magnetic field strength at locations around the world, with a 50 km resolution.

WMM information is used by an inertial navigation system and is used to compare the WMM value at that location and the measured value to determine rotation relative to the magnetic North Pole.
