Spatial FOG Completes 558 Kilometre Dead Reckoning Test

Spatial FOG has completed a long distance 558 kilometre dead reckoning test in a drive down the eastern coast of Australia. The test duration was 8 hours and 17 minutes and involved difficult terrain with altitude changes of more than 800 metres. Spatial FOG demonstrated market leading performance in the test with an error of just 0.1% of distance travelled.

SEA Corporation Delivers Sublocus DVL To Ocean Works Asia

SEA Corporation of Japan has delivered Advanced Navigation's Sublocus DVL to Ocean Works Asia. Ocean Works Asia is integrating Sublocus DVL into their ROV platform for autonomous control. SEA Corporation worked with Ocean Works Asia to perform validation performance testing on one of the units in the waterways of Chiba prefecture, Japan.

The new system provides accurate performance metrics that allows the crew to maximise efficiency during races. The system provides accurate data through GPS outages and under the tough conditions of racing at sea.

OBDII Odometer Released

Advanced Navigation has announced the release of their OBDII Odometer vehicle speed interface cable. The OBDII Odometer is a smart interface cable that communicates with a vehicle's on-board computer to determine the current vehicle speed. It outputs real time vehicle speed over an RS232 serial data interface. When connected to one of Advanced Navigation's Spatial series of GPS/INS products it allows for outstanding navigation accuracy when GPS is not available.

Spatial v3 Released

Advanced Navigation has announced the release of the third generation of their Spatial MEMS GPS/INS product. The new Spatial v3 features a significant upgrade of the accelerometers and gyroscopes. The new sensors provide some of the best MEMS inertial performance currently available on the market with a gyroscope bias instability of 3 °/hour and accelerometer bias instability of 20 ug.

Advanced Navigation has announced the release of their Sublocus underwater navigation systems. Sublocus is an underwater inertial navigation system that features high accuracy north seeking fibre optic gyroscopes and accelerometers with a GPS receiver and pressure depth sensor. These are fused together in Advanced Navigation's revolutionary fusion algorithm to deliver underwater positional accuracy of 0.08% of distance travelled.

Spatial Dual is a ruggedized miniature GPS aided inertial navigation system and AHRS that provides accurate position, velocity, acceleration and orientation under the most demanding conditions. It combines temperature calibrated accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers and a pressure sensor with a dual antenna RTK GNSS receiver.

Spatial Firmware v2.2 Released

Advanced Navigation has released firmware version 2.2 for their Spatial product line. The new firmware contains some very exciting new features that allow for innovative new navigation applications. An intelligent heave filter has been implemented for accurately tracking a ship's vertical motion. The EGM96 geoid model has been included to allow for highly accurate mean sea level. Dual odometer support has been added. Airspeed support has been enhanced with an advanced wind estimation filter.

Spatial FOG is a ruggedized GNSS aided inertial navigation system and AHRS that provides accurate position, velocity, acceleration and orientation under the most demanding conditions. It combines the new KVH Industries 1750 fibre optic gyroscopes based inertial measurement unit with magnetometers, a pressure sensor and a dual frequency RTK GNSS receiver.
